SEALIFE centres worldwide have extensive conservation programmes, and we were commissioned to help raise awareness amongst aquarium visitors of important marine conservation issues.
In the first phase, we have created two short animated films explaining the direct impact that our actions as consumers can have on the marine environment. The first film looks at the issue of marine litter, and the direct impact it has on Turtles and other iconic sea creatures.
The second film is focussed on Seahorses and shows how choosing sustainably-fished seafood can protect Seahorses (and their fragile environment) from destructive fishing techniques.
The films, aimed at aquarium visitors of all ages, will be seen by hundreds of thousands of visitors at key locations within SEALIFE centres. They are currently on show at The London Aquarium (UK), SEALIFE Jesolo (Venice, Italy) and will shortly be installed at SEALIFE Dallas and SEALIFE Minnesota (US).
